    Moyhastin is a peaceful rural locality just southeast of Westport, nestled in the scenic heart of County Mayo

    If you're travelling by car from Westport town centre, take the R335 heading southeast; after about 3 km, turn onto the local road signposted for Moyhastin. The total journey is just over 5 minutes over roughly 4 km.

    For those relying on public transport, you can take a train or bus to Westport Railway Station and then catch a local taxi or bus to Moyhastin.

    This cosy Swiss-style chalet encompasses so nicely everything you need for your stay:

    The chalet comprises of two floors. A spacious bright & cheerful double bedroom is situated on the first floor, with an adjacent balcony.

    The bed faces directly south, allowing for lovely views across the valley through a large rectangular window while being tucked under the covers. A writing desk faces the same direction with views through a large port-hole window.

    The bedroom can be accessed directly via the ground floor spiral staircase or via the exterior stairs, leading to the balcony with door to bedroom.

    The chalet is fully complete with black-out blinds on all windows & doors to support a good nights sleep.

    The sofa in the living room can be turned into a sofa bed if you have additional guests.

    We can also provide a cot-bed for infants.

    The ground floor consists of an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area and bathroom. The living area has a large comfortable couch that converts to an equally comfortable double bed, making it possible for this Chalet to comfortably sleep 4 people.

    The kitchen is fully kitted out with all the necessary essentials, including a fridge/freezer, cooker & washing machine. Gas is the main source of energy for heat/hot water & cooking, while a wood-burning stove in the living area, is an additional heat source or simply a therapeutic experience for a chill out evening (note: the building is really well insulated so lighting the fire in summer can be too warm).

    The circular dining table is situated in front of the double french doors, leading to the deck. This connects you with the outdoors and the south-facing valley views, adding to your dining experience. The outdoor table is also another dining option, with a mobile BBQ also provided (charcoal is not provided and guests must bring their own).

    The tastefully designed compact bathroom is fully functional and quite charming. It could be characterised as the cutest room in the house.

    The building of this chalet was a very thoughtful and detailed process. Not only was the focus on a comfortable, warm and fully functional space but the feel good factor was an essential part of every aspect. It's very much focused on the experience, providing good well-being, allowing you to unwind, relax and switch off.

    Other Amenities at the Chalet

    We have a hot tub for your enjoyment Note the prep/heating of the hot tub is the responsibility of the guest. Approx 2.5hrs heating time. Fire log and timber are provided.

    We also have an outdoor bucket shower to cool off when using the hot tub.

    Projector, dropdown screen & remote controls provided too.

    There is a BBQ but materials such as charcoal is the responsibility of the guest.

    This property has its own spring water well, with beautiful crystal clear water on tap from kitchen sink.

    Ironing board and hairdryer are provided.

    JBL wireless speaker provided.

    We pride Éalú Escape on being a no shoe house (some crocs provided) - you may wish to bring your own indoor shoes.

    The fridge is under-counter size with a small top-freezer compartment.

    There is a solid-fuel indoor stove for the winter months. The Chalet is well insulated so we don’t recommend using it in the summer months.
